Chiropractic Care

Through the chiropractic adjustment, we take pressure off the nerves that are causing dysfunction or pain. We’re not adjusting the nerve itself but instead adjusting the vertebrae, or bone structure, off of that vertebral subluxation. As a result, the body can work more optimally,

Conditions That Can Be Addressed

While chiropractic care does an excellent job of relieving back pain, it can help with many other conditions. These include

  • Low back pain
  • Digestive issues
  • Headaches
  • Sciatica
  • Vertigo
  • Whiplash

Chiropractic can also help people with muscle cramping, bowel problems and other issues. Although patients may not come in seeking treatment for such issues, we witness many positive side effects due to their adjustment.

“I’m not a symptom chaser. People may come in with symptoms, but I’m seeking to identify the cause of that symptom versus mask it,” said Dr. Kelch. “If they come in with a headache, I don’t look at just the neck. I look at the whole system—the entire spine,” he added.

Dr. Kelch takes X-rays of the entire spine, not just the neck, to determine if there is a postural issue that’s causing the neck to have a compensation complex that’s producing the headache. Looking at each person as a whole is critical for Dr. Kelch.

Part of that holistic approach is evaluating a person’s nutrition. As many people have nutritional deficiencies, we can recommend certain supplements. We have our own line in the office that we carry.

Because no two patients are alike, Dr. Kelch provides care that’s customized, not cookie cutter. He uses the Palmer package of chiropractic techniques, which includes Gonstead, Diversified and Activator Methods®. He is also a Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (CCEP). Dr. Kelch will adjust his technique to each patient.

If you’re new to chiropractic, you may be unsure of what to expect. Is it going to hurt? Will I hear a popping sound? Before he even adjusts, Dr. Kelch will go through exactly what’s going to happen. Depending on the technique he uses, he’ll let you know you may hear a sound or feel something. Dr. Kelch will aim to walk you through the adjustment step by step.

For new patients who may be reluctant to get adjusted, Dr. Kelch typically starts with a softer technique, such as Activator, which uses an instrument.
