Dr. Kelch was born and raised in the small town of Kickapoo, Il, just west of Peoria. He was very active in sports throughout his youth. He suffered two separate severe knee injuries and spent a lot of time in physical therapy. He started off his collegiate career majoring in physical therapy until a family friend who was a chiropractic encouraged him to become a chiropractor. He graduated from Illinois State University and spent two years in the Local 183 Carpenters Union before returning to school at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA.
